When you make the decision to exercise and work out, it is exhilarating. You start your planning and maybe even buy some new workout clothes.

 

Then you are at it religiously for a good amount of time. And then… you skip once or twice and then eventually just stop going. 

 

This scenario is common. It's called a “vicious cycle of failure,” according to Michelle Segar, PhD, Director of Sport, Health and Activity Research and Policy Center at the University of Michigan.  

 

In her new book, Dr. Segar shares some life changing tips on how people can make exercising a part of their routine- for good.
